Crap_at_Lunix is on a distinguished road
mandrake 9.1 - Q

on the above system PHP I can't find the PHP.ini file dose it not have 1 or is it me that can't find it.

I have used phpinfo.php and it say's the ini file is in /etc but it's not there

I have show hiden files on so why has mandrake kidnaped my ini file

some usefull help would be nice

Hmm, it should be in there.

Go to a terminal and type ls /etc |grep php.ini

See if it returns anything.

If it isn't there have you installed the php-ini rpm?
rpm -qa |grep php-ini as root or su in a terminal.

This should also be on your CD's if you have not already installed it. Otherwise you can grab it from here:
ftp://ftp.sunet.se/pub/Linux/distrib...mdk.noarch.rpm

Um It seem's not as after your Suggestion it installed then by typing this in a terminal ls /etc |grep php.ini it now shows up.

1 Q. why would that not be loaded in from the Install Disc at the time of installation.
2. How did php work with no ini file
