I have a used MSI 630
1 GHz Athlon 200 FSB
256 / 133MHz sdram
350 w power supply

I have just assembles the parts in the case and the best boot I have got so far is the monitor starts up with the energy saving logo in the corner, then it disappears as fast as it came. The monitor then shuts down. I removed the video card and tried again the board has given one beep on occasional boot but mostly gives a sound like a fart (sorry but the only way to describe it) I have removed the ram but the result is the same. Not sure if it is the ram or the mobo.
Please help

My old Epox 8KTA ans 200 Mhz FSB Athlon 700Mhz Tbird used to fart sometimes at bootup. It was like a horrible distorted blep and after a while it came up and said that it could not find the HDD.

I RMA'd the HDD (returned it under warranty) and when I fitted the new HDD, it was all OK again (no farting)

I hope this helps you in the right direction.

I purchased an ASROCK K7VM2 and fitted the athlon & ram
When it booted up it said CMOS GPNV Checksum bad & Beeped three times. I fitted new ram 256 sdram at 133 mhz & tried again.
now on bootup it gets to the same stage beeps three times and comes up CMOS settings wrong press F1 to load defaults or F2 to enter Bios. The only trouble is the keyboard is not responding.
Any Ideas?
