need serious help!!!!!!!

i installed an audio driver from the maddog dominator page, it was for a card but i didn't figure it would hurt, thought it might help the sound problems i've been having, so i install it and comp restarts.... immediately i notice a clicking from my speakers as comp boots up, if i go to my computer and click on it it shows control panel, clicking on the my comp icon again does nothing, if i right click i hear a sound that reminds me of a drummer rapidly, very rapidly hitting his drums, i go to open and it will open.... so i come here and to open the os forum i had to right click and open in another window (heard drumming entire time) same to submit new thread???? i reinstalled nvidia drivers but it didn't undo the damage i've done.... i can't stand this drumming so pleaease help

An OS would be nice to know.

If it's XP, have you tried the "Roll Back Driver" in 'Device Manager' ?

I've never used the "Roll Back Driver" feature, are you saying you saved the old drivers to CD-RW or you "Roll Back Driver" on your CD-RW?

If the latter, I thought we were talking about a sound card. That's what you should "Roll Back Driver" on.

If the "Roll Back Driver" doesn't work, try just uninstalling and rebooting. Delete the folder you have the messed up driver files in though, that way it won't try to reinstall them.

Not sure I fully understand everything that's going on here.

I'd try uninstalling your soundcard in device manager and rebooting. XP should re-install on a reboot. You may need your MB's CD for the drivers.

sorry for not putting much info up, i paniced.... here's the whole story, i've been having sound problems, (you can see them in the audio section, post is entitled nvidia) so i messing around and i went to the site of the company that made my cd/rw, i looked for some updated drivers hoping it might solve my sound problem, i didn't find any that stated they were for the cd/rw so i downloaded one in hopes that it might (for some reason who knows) work, this is a link to the one i downloaded, it's at the bottom of the page under sound cdards, the 5.1 for xp
http://www.maddogmultimedia.com/support/drivers.asp

so i went to install it and it was having problems, at that ppoint i realized i was an idiot so i clicked a button to sttop the install, it stopped but said it had successfully downlaoded them and then restarted the comp, when it booted up, after the mobo screen display, but before the windows it clicks rapidly, other things that i have noticed are as follows
if i right click on something i get a rapid drumming sound
i uninstalled the sound drivers and when windows detected new hardware, it did a continuous beep through the installation of the drivers
i can't select anything out of the drop down box in explorer
i have to open new windows to view any link

i didn''t clareify that i don't have a sound card, downloading soundcard drivers was an act of extreme stupidity, i have an asus a7n8x with the nvidia soundstorm built into the mobo

also it seems that after my comp runs and i navigate for a while it stops acting so strangely and begins running a little more normally.... so far i have deleted alkl files i downloaded and uninstalled everything in the sound department under device manager... any help would be great....
