What exactly is the purpose of Windows Messenger?

you mean the service?

i believe it was designed for administrators to send remote messages to other admins or clients on the network

I guess the service...it pops up whenever I start my computer..you know, the little icon dude in the tray. I was just wondering if I could get any use out of it.

could you take a screenshot of this 'little dude"?

It's just an integrated version of MSN instant messenger, if you are running Windows XP........different name, same program......

I think he means the Chat Windows messenger.


IT's basically the same thing as msn messenger....

but it comes built into winXP.

Its exactly the same as the MSN versions only that Microsoft took the priviledges to use that name and integrated it in Windows XP. Its a chat program for those who dont know yet used to communicate between people who have msn or hotmail emails.

yes.... MS version of AIM
