no power to hard drive??

My power supply died and i replaced with a matching new one.The cpu fan works but no power to hard drive,there is power at plug.tried hard drive in other system and nothing,dosent hum or do diddly and the drive is 2 yrs old?? could the power supply have toasted the drive?

Do you have another drive to try on the new PSU just to be sure?

no but a friend is going to bring and see.that drive is still under warranty,do you think maxtor would honour it because the power supply fried it?

yes good choice, we were also thinking maybe the harddrive fried the power supply.is that possible because my understanding is that if a diode blew the voltage would drop?
