Catalyst 3.8 problem?

OK, d/l the latest from ATI. After tweaking it back to my settings, i ran 3D03. I got 2500 with a 9700NP!! WTF? Tried messing with different settings and couldnt really get a better score. I usually score 4000. Maybe I should roll back to 3.7?

EDIT: picture quality seems to be abit better and i can turn settings up another notch or 2. Has anyone else d/l them yet for comparison?

Well, I'd say as long as you're getting better performance and better quality in your games, who cares about the benchmark scores.

I mean, it's one thing to say "I got a 4,000 in 3DMark03" but it's even better to say "I can set my texture quality to MAX in xxxxxx game"

The games are what it's all about, it's probably just an issue between the 3D benchmark and the 3.8 Catalyst drivers that makes the score bad. Non-optimized something or other...

Good luck....

My benchmark score increased. I also noticed that it renders Star Wars Galazies better...befiore all of the faces pretty much looked the same...now they are definitely different.
