cd-rom properties?

went into nvidia control panel>hardware>cd-rom>properties>properties tab.... there is a volume control at this point that doesn't change the volume, is it suppose to? also the cd audio under volume control controls nothing, is it suppose to?

Does the cd-rom have a "headphone" jack?

you are probably using a digital connection to your cd rom so you get the audio data over the ide cable, rather than the older cdrom connection to the soundcard by direct analogue cable (with small header plugs and 3 or 4 wires). the analogue cables are the input source which the traditional cd volume controls in the mixer panel control. the digital inputs are controlled by the master volume control and possibly the wave volume.

cd-rom does have a headphone jack in front, and do have an analog cable (small four wire type connector) from cd/rw to mobo..

also headphone jack doesn't work?
