How do I play store bought DVD's on my PC?

Hi,

I have just replaced the CD Burner and CDROM on my PC with two Sony Drives one a DVDRW( DWU 14A) and the other a CDRW/DVD ROM (CX300E).

I bought the full Version of Nero 6 and installed it.( you'll know all about this if you saw my post in Tech Support). I popped in a DVD to test the drives are working and nothing happens.

Am I being completely stupid here or am I missing some software?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Cheers

You are trying to watch the movie?

If so you can't do that with nero.

you need a program like PowerDVD or WinDVD.

Hi,

I downloaded a trial version of Power DVD. I will have a go at downloading Media Player 9 tonight when we go out to Dinner. A huge file like that takes a loooooooooooooooooong time on dialup.

It( Power DVD) found both the Drives ok and seemed to install ok. It looks to all intents and purposes as if it is playing a DVD and I get Audio(I started this reply a while ago when I had no audio, this was because the PCI Sound Card was trying to use the modems drivers, these things sometimes happen when I get too tired ). The Power DVD Screen just goes black.

My Video Card is fairly basic one It a SIS6326 AGP Graphic Accelerator. It only has the one plug that accepts the monitor cable. I am wondering if this could be the problem.

Cheers
