Kids overclocking athlon 2500

I am getting a new computer with an Athlon 2500, ASUS A7n8x Deluxe, the case is a Raidmax Scorpio 868 with 420 Watt p/s. Not counting the cpu fan, I will have 5 fans with room for two more. I am also getting a thermal display that can control 3 of the fans. I have never overcloked before so I need help.

your major concern is the ram u are using - use good ram and u can get to 200fsb no problem. skimp on the ram and you will be lucky if you can break 190fsb.

check my post earlier (same topic) about CPU OVERCLOCKING. i had an asus board just like yours - and i found that the biostar board ate it in benchmarks and stability.

it doesnt matter about the SIZE of your memory... it is the performance that matters.

i would take pc3500 512 over pc3200 1gb any day.

in regards to overclocking i mean.

Where is the best place to get directions for overclocking? I have never done it before and do not want to ruin my processor.

richmc,
You really shouldnt have any problems with that.
If you are going to overclock most are having no problems running that proc at 11x200 if not higher.

You will need to change out that hsf if it is the stock amd hsf.

Here are some links to overclocking, ram timings, ect.....
