Misc Ahhhh, finally got it running again! [my big box]

Ahh, it feels so good. Had this machine, and after taking on a project to convert all my media to alternate mediums, my big machine up and died [well, it would work long enough to get half-way through an encode]. long story short, I have smashed one Macron PSU and the Allied is next. The Macron had issues from the start, but being frugle I stuck it out until it became unbearable. I thought I had lost two mobos, but one has checked out AOK after 5 days of intense "testing". I'll get around to the other sometime next year probably, as I don't have enough parts to do anything with it right now anyway.

Well anyway, off to convert my CD's to higher quality MP3's, and my DVD's to DIVX. I am wondering if I should just put the WAV files on my drives instead of converting them to MP3. So I'll start with the DVD's first since I already have the CD's in 190kbps.

Also going to play around with some overclocking (yeah, all those problems, and I'm looking to create more! I can never have enough stress...)

XP1700+ (running @ 21C baby)
512MB Kingston 2700 2-2-2
Asus K7V8X
Antec True430
MSI FX5600 (VIVO)
...

It's best to throw out those psu's especially when they even begin to go bad. They can easily fry a system if you keep a defunct psu.

Yes, I'm going to keep them as WAV's. Anybody know of a good program that will check a CDDB and tag & name the files for me...I hate to do all these by hand, and the programs I've used only do this for MP3 conversions.

I agree! But I don't always follow my own advise!

I'd look into EAC. I'm pretty sure it'll lable Wav's too.

If you're not familiar with that program let me know and I'll Google you some linkage.
