Compter not working

Hope someone can help me and tell me where I am screwing up. I have an XP and a 98 on a network. I have not been able to share a printer so I bought a USB ab Data switch. I took the cable lead from the printer and then plugged into switch and then a cable to each computer to the switch, The printer FROM the XP works but I cannot get the 98 to even turn on. I have a Linsky KVM swith and it transfers OK but the 98 shuts down after a few seconds. When I press off-on button on monitor the box says NO SIGNAL.i DON'T THINK THE SWITCH HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS. CAN SOMEONE HELP.

Please disregard my previous letter. Everything is AOK again. Everyonce in a while these computers are going to do what they want to do no matter what you do..The computer works and the printer works with the switch I bought. Bought the switch on Ebay for $4.95 which included the two cables. Cost me $12.50 with the postage and was new in the box. Good deal.
