Welcome to the forum Mp3. Good job researching your subject before posting.

When you say "drops off" do you mean decreases in volume, or goes mute?

Are you using the remote, or keyboard commands to navigate the program?

You might be hitting a mute button, or volume button inadvertantly.

my sound drops out completely after 5 minutes or so of watching tv. i don't know what's causing it. i'm thinking it's cause i don't have enough power running through my system:

P4 1.8
1G DDR (366)
60G WD HD
120G Maxtor HD
LiteOn DVD Player
Asus 7100 Deluxe (dual output)
Winfast 2000 TV XP
56k Fax/Modem

it's a mATX mb (PCChips 935), mATX case, and 200W power supply. any thoughts?

Have u tried downloading and installing the newest drivers from the leadtek website?

The ones that come on the CD have been nitoriously shitty, upgrading is almost a necessity.

They have a step by step guide for different operating systems on how to update the drivers as well.

Theres also a new version of the Winfast PVR application out

it actually made things worse: instead of just losing my sound after a while, i just don't have any sound at all on all channels above 12 (i'm in the US with cable channels up to 74). lol, not to mention channel 12 seems to be getting a spanish audio broadcast. i can't see to find a way to change the audio the card is recieving... :/

Jschan, i had the same problem with leadtek winfast 2000 xp. I followed the advice on this thread http://www.techimo.com/forum/showthr...threadid=79252

and it worked. Sound doesn't mute anymore.
Well, only when i launch outlook express that launches windows messenger which created this problem in the first place.

Same problem + 1

ok i had the same problem i just disabled auto protect in the norton antivirus we'll see if that works.

I have one more problem though, If i record something in tv card, i cannot hear the sound. I played the file in the software that comes with the tv card and then i played hte file on windows media player. Windows media player searches for a codec but doesnt find it, i guess I'm missing something. Can anyone tell me what codec I'm missing.
