Omega Red is on a distinguished road
New hdd problems
I just installed a new IBM/Hitachi HDD into my existing Win XP Pro system. Win is not recognizing the drive an I'm not sure what to do.
MSI K7N2G-L Mobo
MSI Geforce 4 Ti 4800 8X AGP
2/Kingston Hyper-X DDR 333 512 (1GB)
Western Digital 40GB HDD (original)
DVD/ROM Drive
12/10/32 Plexwriter CDRW
Athlon XP 1800 + 1.53 GHz

I will try to list any other info you may need.

When you PC POSTs do you see the new drive? (when you turn on your PC is the new drive listed when the pc is detecting your devices?)

I also can view it in the system manager as well.

Ok that hooked it thank you so much!!!!!!!!
Now on to my next question, what is the best way to make a complete copy of the existing HDD over to the new one so I can remove the old one?
