remote for computer

so my friend ended up buying the ati aiw VE since it was the only one @ best buy. and it was $40. the guy @ best buy said that there is no way for her to get a remote to change the channels with that card though??? is that right??? can anyone recommend a remote that will work? samwichse recommended girder in this thread. anyone have any experience in that?

Isn't Girder just the software? Don't you need the actual remote itself?

I have the ATI AIW VE myself, and I got the Keyspan Digital Media Remote. It's great for what I do. It does not have number keys on it though. It's an IR receiver that plugs into a USB port. It does have its own girder-like software that lets you define application-specific functions (you assign keystrokes to the buttons on the remote, but you can assign different keystrokes for different applications).

thanks crowfan, but dang! that is $50! the one from ati is less and it has a number pad. anyone know a cheap one?

i found that my pocket pc can work as a remote but i would need to find a reciever (time for dumpster diving)
