Sound dies while playing DVD

Whenever I try playing a DVD, the sound dies about 15 minutes into the video. System specs below.

P4 2.4A Ghz.
MSI 845E Max MOBO.
768 MB PC 2700 RAM.
80 GB WD 7200 RPM HDD.
20 GB Maxtor 5400 RPM HDD.
Radeon 9000 Pro 128 MB Video.
Sound Blaster Live! Platinum 5.1 Sound card.
Logitech Z-560 Speakers.
Liteon 4X4X16 DVD+R/+RW Drive, CD-R/-RW at 40X24X40.
Samsung 40 X CDROM.

Any idea's on what is causing this?

I have a friend with the same sound card that has a very similar problem. What program are you using to play the movie?
