ChrisHadnagy is on a distinguished road
Kids Compaq Armada 1550 DMT Whacked out problem

So I have this older Compaq Armada 1550 DMT and when I turn it on it just beeps and goes to a POWER ON PASSWORD... I can't remember the dang thing. It has been forever since i used it

How can erase this password or get past this dang thing?

open up the case and pull the cmos battery out. set it on a metal service to discharge it. place the battery back in. presto changeo

it should be gone.

This is a laptop... do the same thing? Open it up and pull the battery for the CMOS?

I believe him... having a problem getting the fron open... I think there is a hidden screw

dang it

But I am working on it

Is there a manual somewhere telling you where every screw is?

User Guide

Is the only one I can find.

You need to just remove the keyboard to get to the CMOS battery. Remove all the screws on the bottom that have an arrow next to them, that should allow you to lift up the keyboard.
