HTML: How to? XML? Other ...

Fellow Web Artistes:

I have been using MS Notepad with tags to build my sites. I enjoy learning through tutorials on the Web new effects utilizing this truely "hands-on" approach.

Would you kindly turn me onto additional or what you consider to be extra good sites that demonstrate "how to" learn even more techniques?

Can Java script be written w/o some fancy program?

Finally: What are your opinions as to which program (e.g., MS FrontPage) that will give me nice website design and quick updating & maintenance considering "best bang for the buck?"

Additional Question: I have WordPerfect Office 11 which includes a WP XML Project Designer. Is the XML worth learning for website design or is that intended for an entirely different application?

Thank you!

Brangwen
