what problems would be caused if systray wasn't running at startup? how ould one make it so it did?

uhh, you need systray and explorer to run....with w98,ME etc..those were the minimum two things you needed. Probably if you tried to stop it from running, it would just retsart itself..and/or hang.

if i start up from a cold boot (comp not been on in hours) windows will start, when i hit control alt delete however systray is not listed, if i go to run and type in systray i can then shut down hitting ctrl/alt/delete and hitting shut down button, otherwise it hang on shutdown, i'm thinking this is causing some problems i've been having with this comp, so my question is how do i enable systray in the startup? what's it labeled as? do i go through msconfig.exe?

skip that last question, i ran msconfig.exe and systray wasn't checked for startup? not sure how that happened... hmm
