Kids LCD monitor size (length and width)?

I'm looking into building a custom case with an LCD screen mounted right into it. Right now I'm just designing it and I have a question for those of you that have modded LCD screens...

What is the length, width, and height of a 15" LCD screen? I'm not talking about the monitor, just the LCD component.

im not sure about the actual dimensions, but i will warn you about this: lcd monitors can create a lot of heat if place inside your case... that is what stopped me from doing this (and the fact that i couldnt just rip open and expensive item)

Unlike the Larger Monitors, a 15" TFT is indeed 15" diagonally across. It therefore measures roughly 12x9 inches (length, height). Unsure on the width though, as I have never taken one of those bad boys apart...

I'm not real worried about heat. The monitor is going to flip open similar to a laptop, so when it's on, it won't be inside the case. As for the expensive part, that's what ebay is for. I'm going to try it on a piece of junk first, then if it works well, I'll go for better.

The width realy isn't a big issue, I can deal with that afterwards, I just wanted to know how big to make the opening...Thanks!

I don't know, I'd figure that there'd be some sort of standard.

Not really. Ever see those tool boxes where the top flips open...
