Norton 2K3 virus definitions expired...HELP!

Alright, here's the deal...my Norton SystemWorks 2003 virus definition subscription ran out, so I tried to "fool" my system by uninstalling NSW, cleaning out my registry, and reinstalling it so I could have another year of free updates. Well that didn't work and now I'm stuck with Oct 28, 2002 virus definitions. CRIKEY!


Is there anything I can do (aside from paying to update, of course) to correct this problem?

PM me if you feel that answering in public might be bending TechIMO rules...

Switch to McAfee!

I've never had that problem when doing a reinstall, 6-7 times so far in the last year and ahalf. Never tried it for the reason you did thou.

Or you could just use AVG. That's probably the cleanest answer you're going get in this thread..

Mike, have you had a look at AVG antivirus? I'm test driving the free editiion on 2 of my systems here at home and I've liked it so far.
