motherboard gigabyte GA-7VA problem
system..
amd 2.2 xp+ processer(1.8mhz)
gigabyte GA-7VA motherboard using bios f11
512mb ddr ram
msi 128mb geforce fx5200 graphics agpx8
on board sound ac97
right im probably not as computer literate as some of you guys here, but i seem to have a problem.
the motherboard has a frequency switch for the type of processer your using. cpu bus frequency think its called.
anyway the computer came to me with the switch set to 100mhz setting so my cpu showed up as a 1.5mhz xp+(1.3) processer.
my friend who built it up said it was just for safety as he was setting it up .anyway it runs fine at 1.5 but as soon as i switch it back to auto setting (2.2mhz) computer runs great for a time then just crashes and i cant get it going again untill i switch it back.
the processer and memory are correct for this setting .ive checked them.
he suggested it might need the bios updating so ive done this from f9.
but still i get this strange crash..the computer can run for 24hours or more, same software etc
then all of a sudden it dies.
im putting it down to this cause it.s so stable when set at 100mhz setting.
anyway hope that all makes sense.
so all i need now are some solutions .. thanx
