help!!!!! pc started to act weird and now won't boot.
ok before i continue, hear are the specs:
athlon 900
msi ms6340m mobo
256 mb sdram
onboard video
40 gb maxtor
ok, i was going to network it with my other pc so i got a crossover and plugged it into the lan cards of both computers. i set up the netwrok but shortly after, this computer's screen turned a pinkish colour. it would not respond. so i hit the reset button and as soon as it booted into windows the screen turned this colour again! wtf. i restarted it again and it wouldn't get past POST. i reset the cmos, loaded failsafe defaults in bios but no go. now, it won't even post. there are no beeps nothing. all of the fans are running. i tried booting with just ram video and cpu. but no go. is my cpu dead or is somthing else wrong. plzz help me. i need to get this computer running ASAP!!!
thanx

Could be the capacitor death, I've got an MSI board and an Abit board with the same problem. They went unstable, then dead. Both have leaking capactors.

I had a similar situation the other day. I tried everything I could think of and then finally took apart the whole thing, cleaned every part with an air compressor and reassembled it. Now it seems more stable than it has in months. It's a pain in the rear but can't hurt |

Even if that isn't the issue, I bet a chipped core could be a big problem.

but if it was a chipped core, why would it give the long, constant beeps? i thought it only did this when there was a video or memory problem. am i missing something here?
