Embarrassing Dell 15" LCD question

I have a couple of the E151fpb Dell monitors...one has been setup on display..the other I just opened to check it out and I was in the process of putting it back in the box when I ran across a slight, uhh, "issue".

I cant seem to get the bottom back off of it!!

I am pushing the stupid little button and putting some force where I should be but its not popping off like I think it should.

So, undeterred, I went and checked the one I have on display....hmm, same thing.

Am I missing something here???
Theres one button to push and then it should pop off yes?

By now you've probably used a hammer to put it in the box. The button should release the internal 'latch' just above the button. The panel has its pivot point at the 'top', and not at the bottom (where the button is). Simply press (and hold) the button, and tilt/lift the bottom of the panel outward, and then lift the panel upward (off of the pivot at the top).

Otherwise, a hammer should work

THose should be your color signal wires.
Where its cut off at caseing. Just take off cover and look at what colors on cable go to where on pcb. That easy. reattach. I have replaced a few cords on crt's (much more dangerous). The mon Im on now is one of'em. The go bad and colors turn. Its from being bent to hard at back of case where it attaches to video card. The need to incorperate some kinda strain reliefe. L.C.D.'s are much much lower power and alot less risky to be in there messing about with. I cant give ya a exact layout on wiring colors cause they arent standardised really. Each mon a little diff. Im surprised they sent ya the cord. Every CRT co. I ever contacted wouldnt even respond to my cord requests. BS in my opinion. CTX is really good for the price. And thats cause their tech support is non existant. Gotta save $ somehwere right.

I thought you wanted to know how to get the bottom stand off?

Once you push the button down, you should slide it towards the front and THEN it will "pop off".

Or, cut the cable off like the other guy . . .
