Can't access web pages!!!

My computer is no longer allowing me to access web pages through any type of browser. I also can not log on to AIM, or outlook express. I am able to use Kazaa Lite K++ and eDonkey2000, but I am unable to use the integrated browsers in these programs. When I try to access a web page I receive the same error as when the network is down. I am running Win2k, and my friend who is also using 2k and is connected to the network is not experiencing this problem. I used AVG 9.0 to scan my computer and that did not discover any viruses(virus database updated as of 9/09/03). Any help is greatly appreciated. Feel free to email me at jester188@hotmail.com

-Thanks

Run your "Connections" setup in IE to verify yoiur settings. Do you have a proxy or firewall??? Check those settings too. Probably something simple but a PIA anyway. Good Luck

Also, check to make sure your IP address didn't get changed to static if you have a DHCP server. Don't laugh, I've had it happen to me before.

First, are u using a router? If so, reboot the router and modem. 2nd, disable any AV's or Firewalls and try again. 3rd, I'd make sure network settings are ok. Disable Netbios or use Netbios over TCP/IP. Last resort....reinstall your OS. Let me know some more specifics if that doesn't work.

Hey everybody thanks for all of the great suggestions, my buddy helped me fix the problem. For some reason my system had a set DNS address. I changed the setting to automatically detect and all my problems vanished. Thanks again for all the suggestions, peesh!
