Systems I Need Help w/ MS Outlook

I recently had a problem and had to reinstall windows. I did not delete any programs or files, and now need to recover a Microsoft Outlook calendar. The problem is this, I copied the entire "Microsoft Office" folder to a new location, reinstalled office, then tried to replace the existing folder with the old one (of course backing up the new folder as well). The program would not open.

I am desperate to get this file out of Outlook as it is used for business, and I will lose about $3,000 if I cannot retrieve this information.

I did not have time to create an exported file or backup.

PLEASE help!!!

DuraMax

Are you using Exchange? Did you archive your Outlook file and now you're trying to restore the archive? Do a search for the archive.pst file. That's the personal folders file you should open in Outlook.

Reinstall Office. I assume you want to connect to your .PST file. When you open Outlook, Do a File, Open and find the .PST file

Once I do that, is it just a matter of importing the file to the "new" outlook?

Unfortunately, Outlook usually doesn't store the PST files in the Outlook folder. Outlook will usually place them in the directory <\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Outlook>.

Search your entire HD for *.pst files. You may get lucky. I'm working on the assumption that you're not on a network and the file isn't restoreable.

I backed up my "documents and settings" folder also, and am unable to find a .pst file. I also (as recommended) searched the entire drive to no avail.

any other suggestions...

Please help!

At this time I have nothing else. I'll keep searching my knowledge base however.
