Microsoft optical mice

Hi i own a Microsoft optical wheel mouse 1.1a
its just a standard wheel/optical mouse.
ive had for about 3months or less now
the problem im having is ill just be surfing the web or playing ultima online and it will just stop dead the laser wil lgo off buttoms stop working sumtimes a it will just come back on after a second or i will have to unplug and plug back in
it hasnt been dropepd/thrown or had stuff spilt on or anything either lol
if any one got any ideas why it would be great

also there are no vissilbe faults in teh wire or mouse or plug

My guess is that it's either a dud -- return it, or you need to update your drivers. Check Microsoft's web site and make sure you have the latest software.

have you overclocked the fsb on your mobo, my ms optical mouse didn't like anything over 138fsb

For what its worth Im on my 3rd intilli mouse optical, they have a great warrnaty, take advantage of it.

Call ms support for your mouse, they will issue an rma and most cases will not have you return the bad one.

hmm well yea me and my mate have over clocked b4 using fsb i sumtimes run at 144fsb which sets me at a 2000xp real clock speed isa 1800xp amd
but i havent done that for like a month because the system becomes unstable no idea why from what ive heard it should run fine btw no heat issues or anything i made sure
you dont happen to have the number for australia do you?
if not ill just try and return it

If it's a usb one, disable power saving features on that particular port in device manager. If you've an external USB card you can use then even better.
