Scanning open ports?

I was wondering if there were any programs out there that would check to see what ports were open and being used.
I have recently become very paranoid about unauthorized intrusion; like viruses, torjans, etc..so I want to beef up security.

I have zone alarm, avg, the cleaner, spybot, adaware currently installed and all these programs are running behind my lynksys router. So are there other steps I could take in improving security?

Active Ports will tell you which ports have connections, who's connected to them, and which program they're using.

Plus it's free. Can't beat that.

I should say that Active Ports will only tell you which ports on your PC are in use. It won't talk to your router. But you should have NO port forwarding set on your router unless you absolutely need it.

Yep, I use Active Ports also.. But it's not going to tell you what ports are vulnerable from attacks..

whoa

I was looking for something like that about a week ago!
I saw in netstat I had a connection to another guys box that I couldnt' figure out why. I wanted to know which app was listening on that port... Active ports seems to do exactly that

now that's alot of information!
All my ports are stealthed, so I guess that's a good thing.

But is there anyway of masking my IP? I don't know if it makes a difference tho...I want complete anonymity!
