hey operative, i have seen your modeling work on the front and im pretty interested in getting involved with it. what do you use for this stuff, and how did you learn it? if i could learn this stuff in a couple months i would love to help.

I just use milkshape 3d, thats it. If you want to get into mod making you should also get milkshape3d. Its extremely easy to learn and after lots of practice you could do this in no time.
If you are really interested in joining and learning to model you should learn these tutorials.

when making a cylinder, it says set to 1 stack and 8 slices and it should automatically come up. nothing happens....
