Kids Internet security 2002 removal

A client had a problem with the antivirus part (I believe he got a virus that disabled NAV) So I uninstalled the whole lot, went through the regestry and removed any mention of Norton or Symantec, but it would not let me remove the legacy part of the live update. If I try to reinstall it, it won't install the AV portion. I have tried safe mode but still the regestry won't let that part go. What can I do next. He is running XP home addition on a HP machine.

So how do I totally remove any presence of any Symantec software so I can reinstall it completly.

Paul

Symantec has for Norton AV anyway, a small free .exe to uninstall for you. Their support site is great for toubleshooting too..
