Need a good 3.2MP digicam

Well I finally ran into some money before my trip to Kuwaii in a few weeks and i want to get a digicam. I've look before and I really like the canon's but of course I haven't had a ton of experience in this field so I wanted to ask some peoples opinions before I drop $300 on one. Thats how much Im lookin to spend btw Also I'd like to keep it at around 3.2 cause I wanna be able to print really really clear photos if the picture warrants it. Having a slight optical zoom would also be a nice feature. The ones that have stuck out so far are the Canon Digital Elph S230 (love the metal case and compact size) or the Canon A70 which is a little bit bulkier but still a nice camera. Any other suggestions? I dont really like the Kodaks I've played with...they seem so fragile.

IMO, get the Canon Elph! I have the 2.1 model, and I love it.

I was thinking about the S230 but apparently thats an older model. I think the newest one is the SSD100. Thats a 3.2MP as well. A little more expensive than the A70 but haven't checked the shooting options yet.

The Canon S320 is certainly a good camera for snap shooters. Not to mention the extreamly friendly software package and add-on. I have this camera and love it

good luck

How useful do you find the multiple shooting modes in the A70 model? I like that model cause it has slightly more options than the SD100 but the AA battery thing sux (Lithium rechargable in the SD is waaaay better IMO). Of course the A70 is a little bit bulkier than the SD but the A70 is also $25 cheaper. Hmmmmm....options options
