Convert an OS partition to NTFS?

I have Win2k on a FAT partition on drive C and WinXP on an NTFS partition on drive D. Is it possible to convert the Win2k partition to NTFS without messing things up? And if so, do I do it from Win2k or from WinXP?

Yes, it is perfectly ok.... Regardless of what's on the partition.. OS, Apps, saved, data. It makes no difference..
