Kids Outlook 2002 SP1 notification issue

When I receive new mail Outlook gives an audible notification however it has taken to using the PC internal speaker rather than the sound card in my workstation (XP SP1 and all hotfixes).

All other applications seem to have no problem using the sound card as expected and I am sure I never used to have this problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

ed

I'm guessing you've already tried this but here goes..

In the "Sounds and Multimedia" (I think that's the name, I'm not on an XP machine currently) applet in the Control Panel do you have the "New Email" sound set to something you like?

When I go into Outlook's options and tell it I want it to play a sound as a notification it only makes the PC speaker beep on this machine.

Hope that helps.

Looks like the default sounds got messed up at some point, I now have a much nicer notify.

Thanks

Glad to help.

Given how close to lunch it is right now I'm going for a Wendy's triple over the cookie though..
