loads of errors

Hi, I DSL connected to my router, which connects 3 computers together running win 98se. the router is a DLink DI-604 and 2 computers have IE 5.5 and mine has IE 6.0 sp2. For the last two days my computers receives many "Page cannot be displayed" errors in IE and when the page actually does attempt to load most of the images are "not found" I have to refresh the pages several times before I can sometimes get them to load correctly. It only happens on my PC, not on the others. I've even tried upgrading the firmware on the router, but it didn't help. Even my router's admin web pages usually don't display correctly on my computer. I don't believe I have done anything "major" in prior to the incident except upgrading PC cillin from 2000 to 2003, but webtrap is turned off. ALso if I turn everything off (ZA, PC cillin, etc) the bad pages and errors still happen. Last night I couldn't get to one page, but instead when i typed the url it sent me to Amazon.com....then after about two minutes it worked again for a few more minutes.

I just don't know what to do anymore, I even had to retype this message cause after pushing "post" i got the fricking error and I lost everything I typed.

ok, I was able to narrow it down to one problem. PC CIllin 2003 comes with somethign called tmproxy.exe (don't know what it does, why it's there). But, I am 99% sure that's causign my prob. When IE is loading, tmproxy takes over (I know that from my ZA popping up a q if I want to let it connect). Now, how do I disable tmproxy????

tmproxy is part of PC-Cillin and this seems to be a known issue.

To disable TMProxy do the following.

Click on Start, select settings followed by Control Panel.
Next open Administrative Tools, then open Services.

Scroll down until you come to Trend Micro Proxy Service. Right click on it and select properties.

Next to Startup Type, click on the down arrow and select disabled and click apply. This will totally disable the Trend Micro Proxy Service, and you will not get booted from the net anymore.
From the discussion here

Regards

hmmm I don't have Administrative Tools in control panel....I'm not running XP or 2k but 98se....

I guess I'll just have to delete that individual file, hopefully the rest of PC-Cillin doesn't need it.
