Kids Tweaking a System to get top performance.

Ok, I finally build my computer with the following configuration, mainly i want it to be a game system:

Asus A7N8X Deluxe (stock bios)
AMD 2500XP Barton (stock heathsink and fan)
512 MB Corsair Memory Xtreme (nice heatsink)
Creative DVD Drive
20 Gig ATA 100 (soon to be replaced with an 80 Gig ATA133 with 8MB Buffer)
ATI Radeon 9500
Onboard Soundstorm Sound
Onboard 3Com Nic
1 Outake fan on the side.
WinXP Professional Edition

I want to know if there is a site, that can help me out to tweak my system like bios, OS.. to get the best performance note i don't want to overclock the computer, I will reinstall WinXP when i get my new harddrive on next week....

PowerToys for Windows XP

There's a new version of TweakUI, "Tweak UI for Itanium based systems".

What Martoch said, BlackViper (for the services config and for the basics of tuning WinXP). Then go for the more usage specific tweaks.

Have fun!

I know you don't want to overclock, but the best tweak would be to flash the BIOS of your 9500(if it's a pro)and turn it into a 9700pro.

Yeah! I think the new version of Rivatuner has that ability. Also if your buying a new hard drive, you may as well go for a SATA drive, the performance increase is substantial.

You might pay nForcersHQ.com a visit too.
