Outdoors all-in-wonder 7500 display/tv out

Bought a new intel 2.4 P4 computer and this damn card to do it all and it's doing zilch. I can't even get video display for avi's on my players (Winamp. ATI File Player, WMP). I have installed the nimo codec pack, direct show - the whole array - and nothing. Now I am trying to hook it to my tv and the displays tabs are greyed out and I can only access the default setting for my monitor. My tv is S-video and cables are new. The only instruction their useless manual gives is to click the green tab to enable the tv. Twits! I HATE bad manuals!

I've checked the BIOS and it's set for 64k and 4X agp. They have a file, ATITBDRV.SYS, which is a workaround for the rage cards but this is radeon 7500 so I doubt that's the issue.

I think the problem with players might be at the root of this but I don't know. Programs just act as if there is no driver installed, but the ATI radeon driver is installed and device manager says there is no problem.

HAAALLLPPP!!!!!

I can clarify my problem a bit - I found that my codecs got removed or never installed properly. I don't know what happened there, but I reinstalled them and now my avi's are playing fine on the monitor/players - xvids, divx, etc. - so that's not the problem.

I'm running win2k, by the way.

I double-checked cables to make sure they (S-vid and rca audio) are connected properly. Any ideas why displays will not recognize the tv?

Sorry, all. Tried to delete this thread but couldn't. Problem turned out to be a narrow slot - S-Vid plug just couldn't get seated tight enough. I wiggled and squeezed it and the thing suddenly dropped in another quarter inch. Works fine now.
