How to distinguish Win98 from Win98/SE?

Hi I've recently ordered a Digital Camera and the system requirements indicated that I needed at least a Windows 98/SE to be compatible with my camera. My question is how can I verify that I'm using Windows 98 or Windows 98/SE? Thank YOU

If the last 4 digits are 2222, then it's SE. If their something else, it's 1st Edition.

Everyone has to learn somehow, even for the basics- but nothing beats doin' it yourself!

I must agree. If I search back thru my threads..the ones asking for help for this tech problem or that one....I find a lot of them have one answer post posted..the one I posted after I found the answer myself and posted in case someone else needs it in the future.

I think that is why I sometimes like to try to help other people find answers to their problems because it sharpens the skills needed to research and troubleshoot.

And sometimes, even if you sit and watch someone show you how to fix something, it doesnt quite "catch" in your brain because they followed a certain thinking process to get to the answer and you might tend to follow a whole different route so their way of doing it doesnt make sense to you, lol....but if you do it yourself from start to finish, you really stretch and grow. To me, if you have searched and found an answer yourself..you can reply to questions on the subject more authoritatively than if someone just told you the quickie answer with no effort on your own part. (that being said, I still ask for quickie help all the time!!, lol)

Overall I have to say that fixing my own problems, and helping others in this forum...to be honest, it is as good as ANY SCHOOL AVAILABLE....if you look at the collective knowledge of all the folks in this forum....thats a LOT of knowledge about a LOT of subjects.

I believe 98FE will work with anything that 98SE supports, as long as you use Windows updates and have the latest IE. I have FE, and this comes up once in a while, but I've never had a problem.
