Disable onboard audio in bios

Hi there,
I am running Win98SE.
I need to disable my onboard sound card in bios because i have got a new sound card.

I know how to get into bios, but i can't find anywhere to disable the onboard audio.

Thanks.

One important factor that will help us help you is to post up what kind of motherboard you have...otherwise we'll be throwing up educated guesses.

BTW, Welcome to TechIMO!!!

If you told us the brand of comp/mobo it would help, sometimes it isn't just a BIOS setting, sometimes it is a jumper on the motherboard...

Oh and welcome to TechIMO

I shouldn't even be on the computer, I have to wake my son up and get him ready for school and get myself ready for work. Sometimes I can't help it though, I just can't stay away!

OK, I'm going now...have a great Monday!

It's probably under 'integrated peripherals'.

Are there several different things that it could be called in 'intergrated peripherals'.
Could you tell me what it would most likely be called?

'Onboard audio' most likely. It has to say something about audio or a synonym of that word.
