i just put together an asus a7n8xdeluxe and got nvidea video card with it, although sound is supposed to be built in, anyways, if i play a game my sound is okay, but if i play a cd it is very low and will not get very loud, any suggestions on how to fix this or what it might be?

Are you using the proper drivers and do you have your speakers plugged into the proper jack? And BTW, it's nVidia.

Open volume properties and up the 'cd player' volume.

checked cd player volume and it was up all the way, disabled digital audio to see if it would work and it didn't help, my mobo has the following jacks
line in connector
line out connector
mic connector
surround l/r audio connector
cntr/lfe connector

right now i have it plugged into the line out connector as it is the only one i can get any sound out of, any ideas?

oh, i don't know if this helps, under sound in device manager there was a !(unknown device), searched for updated drivers and it was nvidea wdm video capture ""(universal), but windows says theres a problem installing the hardware because it can't start............. i'm not sure if that hasd anything to do with it but since it was under sound figured i'd throw it in just in case....

That should've nothing to do with the cdplayer volume.
Your volume in <whatever-your-cdplayer-is> is at top?

You have what plugged in line-out? The line-out connector is for speakers.
