Deleting Netscape Mail

A friend called and told me he can't delete his Netscape mail. He clicks on the mail, hits delete and goes to a blank screen. The only way out of it is to go back, and the mail isn't deleted; or close and restart Netscape, and the mail isn't deleted. Either way, his mailbox is filling, and no way out! Any ideas?

Has he tried dragging to trash?

Option is to save profiles and re-install.

Then put the profiles back in and start over.

Its not a program that is installed. It is the mail system on the web page. There is no trash to drag it to. Also, no profiles to delete. I use the same mail system, and have had no problems. Could it be a system problem?
