Music editing program

I would like to have a program that will allow me to edit songs. I wanted to take the first 50 seconds of a song and then copy that several times so it will then play with out inturruption. Is this possible? If so, could someone recommend a program that will do this?

Thanks

well you could just use sound recorder built in windows to do that. open the file once, and then edit, insert file, over and over again.

Thanks sixf00t4,

I just opened the sound recorder, found my file but it won't open the song. It says it's not a valid WAVE file. It is an MP3. Could you tell me how to change it to a WAVE file?

Thanks CanNiBaL513,

I'll search for that name and see what I can find.

you can convert it to wave (and vice versa) using music match juke box if you just happen to have it, or find a converter at www.download.com

Ok, thanks. I'll try to figure out how to convert it with juke box.

Will the sound recorder also allow me to "cut out" the part of the song I wanted or will it only allow me to play that piece and copy it?

Cool Edit Pro looks good but it's $300.00. lol

Syntrillium Cool Edit will do the job you're looking to do. They have/had a demo program that would let you edit files, however I'm not sure if they still offer a demo. As well, Cool Edit will automatically convert files for you.

Hmm, it looks like Syntrillium was bought out by Adobe. You could try out the renamed program to see if it will accomplish what you need to do.

If not, I can suggest some other programs, but Cool Edit/Adobe Audition is your best and easiest bet.

Thank you willy_ph!

I'll download the trial and see what all it can do.

Thanks a bunch.
