I have a network set up at home, but I am unsure if there is a better/right way to do it.
Here's the basics:
3 computers upstairs, 2 in the "office" 1st floor (central location), 2 more on 1st floor approx 100' (cable-wise) away from office. I am going to be adding a DSL modem also in the next couple days. I am using 3 Netgear FS608 Fast Ethernet Switches (FES) (with "Auto-uplink":
http://www.netgear.com/products/details/FS608.asp?view=), 1 at each remote location. The DSL requires a router, for which I have a Linksys BEFSR41 DSL/Cable Router. The 3 computers upstairs are all patched into a FES with one line run down to the 1st floor "office" FES. The 2 computers away from the office are connected into another of the FES's with one line running to the office FES. As for the router, I think I need to connect the uplink to one of the office switch ports and the DSL to the WAN port.
I think this will work, but am unsure if all the computers will be able to access the DSL connection in this configuration.
Thanks for any help,
Jeremy
