Hey the mobo I just got came with an SPDIF port. Do I need to use it and if so how do i use it and also what is the main purpose of it?? I know it is Sony/Phillips Digital Interface. So what does it do for my audio?

Digital out 5.1. Either Toslink Optical, Coax or both. Use it if you have speakers with a Toslink optical or Coax input or a nice Digital receiver with similar inputs.
