Can't do any kind of web search...

Not one web search engine will work. IE... Google, yahoo, msn... If I type something in it comes up with "page cannot be displayed". I can't go to google's website either.

I can type in the actual webaddresses and can get around the net fine. (other than google)

Has anyone run into this before? I have run ad-ware and anti-vrus with nothing wrong. It just started today.

Try clearing your cookies and temporary internet files.

You probably have some nasty little spyware or hijacker on the system.

Here's some info that will help you find/remove it.

Computing.net thread
SpywareInfo.com article, which recommends Spybot Search & Destroy to remove any hijackers.

I tried Search & Destroy, Hijack This, CWShredder, My AVG Anti-Virus, and Ad-Aware. Nothing fixed the problem.

So... I am on a nice freshly formatted C: drive now.
