new mobo and 2.5 xp processor 266 ram..match?

i just purchased a amd 2500 333 front bus and a new mobo the gigabyte ga-7vaxp the 2500 is xp also......well no posting.....the manual shows that this board runs 333 auto when the dip switches are all off the ram i have is ddr 2100 256 mg i feel i may need 2700 is this what my problem is on a no post? also i tried a 1.4 athlon thoroghbred processor still no posting. did this test to see if the ram would run with it....still no post. cajun here

Does you board have a 12v 4 pin power connector to the mb?

I didn't think that AMD processors needed 12v 4-pin power connectors....

i just put that board and 2500+ in and used pc 2100 ddr no posting

tgxiii: Ive just completed doing some research on power supplys.
My mother board manual states that the board will not function with out the 12v power, and there have been several users who have had damaged power supplys, or burned out atx connectors from not using the 12v as well.

I went to gigabytes site, and looked up your board, didnt spot an 12v connector on it so never mind about that.
