I am running Windows XP on my laptom and recently, whenever I connect to the internet, after about 1 minute my laptop counts down 40seconds untill it restarts.
The message reads:
The COM+ Event System detected a bad return cod during its internal processing. HRESULT was 800706BA from line 44 of d:\nt\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services to report this error.
This only ever happenes after I have connected to the internet and has only happened in the past week.
1 Run a virus scan.
2 Have you got a firewall in place? Does it show anything odd?
3 Have you made any changes recently; i.e. Installing new software, updating drivers, windows updates etc?
