need help with Os boot???

have booted comp and put Os disk in drive but comp says missing OS, and disk is not self booting, can;t get past this.... mobo is asus a7n8x deluxe... anyhelp????"??

did you change the bios to boot from CD rom first?

entered the boot from cd in bios, came up boot from cd, said hit any key then before i could hit any key said missing os....

You have to press a key within like 2 seconds or something, otherwise it will continue and try and boot from the hard disk. Press a key when the message first appears.
