Cheeeap AGP video card.....

Okee dokee......lookin' for card(s) that are cheap enough for building a system that somebody doesn't necessarily care about video for but still contemporary. I partook in Tiger's promo on a 32mb MX200 card last month that was $9.99 AR........niiiiiice! Worked perfectly for what I needed & even surpassed some of my expectations.

Fighting the timeline of AR deals, I need more consistent buys on cards. On my own I can find SiS315 32mb AGP cards for $20 and 32mb MX200 cards for $25. Any feedback??

P.S. (I think that savage 8mb type cards are too little for today's systems & I know nothing about 32mb versions of those same savage cards) TIA

Yep, look for a GeForce2 MX 200/400 they'll do fine for your needs. Just look for AGP and not PCI, and if you in fact get a PCI card stay away from XFX.

There are an abundance of the older Geforce MX cards, so feast, and feast well!

If gaming is not the priority, then as long as they have over 16mb (read 32mb), then the card will do nicely...

The larger memory Savage cards are fine for Windows and the like, so would suit you fine - just don't play too many graphics based games!

Thanks gang. That's kind of what I figured. I went ahead w/ some $20 cards in just the SiS chipset. If anybody finds any MX200 for $20, please post back. Thx!
