Kids Peltier powering probs

I have a Swiftech 226W peltier/TEC and I'm gonna run it on 12V.
Now I have to get a power supply that is enough to cover my new TEC's needs and want help on this topic. The TEC's specs are:

Maximum operating temp: 125 C
Imax = 24 Amps
Qmax = 226.1 Watts
Vmax = 15.2 Volts
Delta Tmax = >67 (C)
Size = 50mm X 50mm X 3.10mm

I'm thinking of getting an Antec or an Enermax power supply.
The Antec SL400 gives 18A @ 12V, and the Enermax EG365AX-VE
gives a max of 26A @ 12V. Is this enough??
(by the way, whats the difference between the EG365AX-VE and the EG365AX-VE(G)(FMA)???? )

Enermax EG365AX-VE

Antec SL400

I do not use these things for CPUs because I do not overclock nor do I ever need this much cooling in a PC, so I speak regarding CPU use from a theoretical perspective (in some of what I say below). I have used peltier coolers in other areas, so I'm not a complete stooge about them.

When a power supply is driving a higher current load than it is rated for, the voltage will (hopefully) collapse. That means when you try to get more than 18 amps from the SL400, then the voltage will drop in an effort to reduce the current. Hence, if you wanted to run the Peltier at full cooling, the SL400 option will choke early.

I doubt that you will need all the possible cooling, so it is IMO, barely a possibility, until you get into xtreem clocking and want the full Delta T.
HTH.

If you are going to use an ATX power supply, don't forget to put dummy loads on the +5 and +3.3V rails. All the ATX power supplies I've seen have minimum load requirements.

Best bet to eliminate all questions is to ask Gabe at Swiftech---
(562) 595-8009 or use Help@swiftnets.com

They recommend minimum requirements for an ATX computer power supply of 28A at +12 volts and direct you towards the:

Enermax EG465AX-VE or
PC Power+Coolings Turbo-Cool 600 ATX or
Power Maxx PM520
all around 100$
