Talk Car computer project

Heya,

I've always wanted to get a PC in my car. I was just thinking about doing it sometime soon...

I am needing though, a few parts that are escaping me can you help me find them?

1. Small touchscreen TFT. I want to use this as the main user device, I'm looking for something around 5 or 6 inches.

2. Inverter? or small power supply? I dunno really. any ideas?

More'll prolly come later...

BTW, this is for UK - so I need UK products or ones that can be shipped and will work

Koal

Running a search through TechIMO's search engine for car mp3 player, I came up with the following results:

http://www.techimo.com/forum/search....der=descending

There's several great resources listed in the threads found above.

Google is your best friend.
Here's another resource for pre-built mp3 car stereo systems along w/LCD's: click here

BTW, welcome to TechIMO Koal.T

Hmm about power supply and it....

If I got a laptop, with a large battery, and put it in a docking station for easy removal - perhaps a way to beat startup/shutdown times would be to just standby it...

I think standby on a full battery will last it a few days, no?

if the LCD is off it can't drain much power either when on - it would be powered by the car when the ACC line is up....

is this a good idea? and would it work?
