Kids Upgrade path for W2k

Can NT 4.0 be upgraded to W2k, or is it necessary to to a clean install either by installing into a seperate directory or fdisk, format, install?

Our office will soon be upgrading to W2k, and although a fresh install is better from the standpoint of lockups, errors, etc.etc. I have many programs on my workstation I would rather not have to reinstall.

Yes you can upgrade from NT4 to W2K, as long as the existing hardware is compatible with W2K. Also some older apps may not run on W2K.

How come you are going win2k and not winXP? Just a question out of curiousity.

I think that win2k may scan your system to see if all the hardware and software are compadible. Or maybe that is just XP.
